Our Story

(From Houston Community Newspaper, 15 January 2014)
"St. Paul’s was founded just over ten years ago with only six regular members including the priest and his wife. For the first year, the congregation sat in stackable chairs instead of pews, sang to a boom box instead of an organ, and worshipped at an Altar that was a folding table with PVC pipes on the legs to give it height. But God blessed the little congregation, and it grew."

"The building was designed by a member of St. Paul’s, Mr. Lynn Austin. He has designed a number of churches in Texas, most notably an award winning design of a church in Dallas. Mr. Austin is also a skilled artisan who built the Altar, Tabernacle, and Communion Rail in the new building."

"The building was made possible by a multi-year fund raising effort and a generous gift from Carden-Jackson School in Pearland. The gift represented the wishes of Beverly Ann Jackson, deceased, and her husband Neal, both members of St. Paul’s."

The Tabernacle

Prior to the Mass on Sunday, 21 Sep. 14, the new Tabernacle and Ciborium were blessed by Father Clay. Many thanks were given to our master craftsman, Lynn Austin, and to his wife Meei Hwa, for fashioning our beautiful Tabernacle.
